Professor Orna Elroy-Stein leads the lab of Translation Control in Health and Disease in Tel Aviv. Prof Elroy-Steins group integrates state of the art research methodologies to study the neurodegenerative genetic Vanishing White Matter disease. Unfortunately due to the rarity of the condition there is minimal funding to support this research.

Progress to date

In order to allow Professor Orna Elroy-Stein's work to progress she requires support.

As a result she has provided a set of milestones to aim towards in terms of financial support:

1st Milestone $840,000 for a specialised confocal microscope

2nd Milestone $1.4 million to fund a fluorescence activated cell sorter along with the hiring of additional research assistants

3rd Milestone $1.7 million will fund live cell imaging and MRI analysis equipment

4th Milestone $2.6 million will enable outsourced program to facilitate characterisation of the drug-like molecule with the potential to lead to pre-clinical stage.
